Using children’s literature and the Orff process, with personal anecdotes thrown in, Jeaneau will dive into stories that scratch the surface of our uncomfortable history, including the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. She will also share stories of black joy that would be great in preparation for Black History month or any time of year. Arrive with an open mind ready to continue the work of sharing these stories and more.

Jeaneau Julian is in her 24th year of teaching music. She completed her undergraduate degree in Instrumental Music Education and all of her Kodaly levels from the University of Oklahoma and earned a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Arkansas Tech University. She has completed her Orff Schulwerk Teacher Education levels and has previously served as Treasurer for the Central Arkansas Orff chapter. Outside of school, she provides professional development for elementary music teachers, and serves as Vice-President of the American Center for Elemental Music and Movement as well as a Trustee for the National Board of Trustees of the American Orff Schulwerk Association.

*NOTE: Notes will be given electronically 24 hours prior to the workshop. If you would like EOC to print your notes, there will be a $5.00 charge which can be paid leading up to the workshop or on the day of as long as we still have notes available.

For walk ins and late registration, an additional $10 fee will be charged for members and non members.
