Movement Beginning for Musical Outcomes: Jessica Dunnick

from $0.00

May 4th // Katherine G. Johnson Elementary // Tacoma, WA // 9am-3pm

Ever wonder why students look confused or uninterested when you teach movement? Why should you incorporate movement in your classroom? In this session, you will learn how to skillfully instruct movement lessons for students of any age or prior experience. Through games, frequent practice, and careful instructional scaffolding, students will build confidence and positive experiences with movement, all while displaying musical knowledge through their bodies. We will consider social and psycho-motor readiness to prepare students to perform folk dances, creative movement, and active listening activities. Examples of SEL lessons through movement and instrument play will help provide a safe and inviting environment for creative outcomes in your classroom!

*NOTE: Notes will be given electronically 24 hours prior to the workshop. If you would like EOC to print your notes, there will be a $5.00 charge which can be paid leading up to the workshop or on the day of as long as we still have notes available.

For walk ins and late registration, an additional $10 fee will be charged for members and non members.
